Plotting an individual on a timeline is a valuable tool to help in genealogy research. Because it summarizes a life, the timeline can point out areas of further research, errors and inconsistencies, interconnections between persons, and relationships to historical events. This discussion will demonstrate numerous types of timelines, how they can be created and how they can be used in analysis.
